GARDEN CITY PLASTICS
Greg began his horticultural career at Gardenworld Retail Nursery in 1979. The nursery grew quickly to become one of the retail Garden Centre showpieces in Melbourne. Working his way to Manager in around 1990 till leaving in late 1998. He began with Garden City Plastics, as a Sales Representative in Victoria & South Australia in 2001, which had small New South Wales and Queensland offices along with the head office in Melbourne where all the manufacturing took place and still does. In 2016 Garden City Plastics (GCP) moved from the cramped Monbulk facility to the expansive former GMH plant in Dandenong South.
With recycling, GCP has manufactured its black pots from recycled material since inception in 1975. GCP won a Sustainability award in 2008 for the recycling Program with Polymer Processors. In early 2021, this was re-ignited with GCP, Norwood Industries and Polymer Processors partnering together and now has a program collecting PP5 plastics covering most capital cities in Australia.
